Tips & Advice

When to Begin:       Two words … SHOP EARLY!

Plan ahead, contact your seamstress early to set-up your fitting, even if you do not have the garment.

Alteration Tips:

Schedule your appointment for alterations 6-8 weeks prior to your wedding.  Bring your dress, shoes, slip, bra, and other undergarments, to all of your fittings, otherwise, the seamstress won’t be able to provide you with an accurate fitting.

Here are a few things to consider:

Jackets, sleeves or straps can be added to any strapless gown.

Corset backs can replace a zipper if the size of the dress needs to be increased or the bride just wants a different look.

Bustles are created by elegantly draping and securing the train to the back of the gown, to allow the bride to move freely and safely during the reception.

Colleen can create a look that’s just your style, from simple and subtle to intricate and detailed.

Bows and sashes can add a splash of color to the dress at the waist to coordinate with the wedding party.
